I used to get quite a few years ago fishing the stretch of the teviot between the teviot bridge just outside Kelso and Roxburgh the folks had a caravan up there never targeted them just used to come along while trout fishing if I remember right the flies tupps indespensible and black spiders worked well up there but what ever the trout were on too mind grh's ring a bell too.Ivan

Will be 10 years since I last fished for them but you used to get them from the wear at Chester le street in the winter on the fast water down from cone burn and up round the bend from sandy bay on stick float and worm or maggot in a foot and a half of water. Had 3 good ones in one day there below cone burn, one touching 20oz. Great fight in the fast water.
