thinking of giving this a shot during a short break. normally used to sea fishing, so any advice on rigs, (spinning or dead baiting) would be much appreciated. I am hoping to get out on a small boat as I have tried for pike from the dhore snd believe I need more knowledge to know where to locate the fish. cheers in advance

This is probably the most expensive water to fish for pike in the country but does produce large doubles, you must purchase any dead-baits from the shop on the fishery again quite expensive, if you can afford it worth a shot and fishing is best from the boat lures or dead-baits work well in the margins, i have only fished from the shore and blanked.

Use one of their guides, if you haven't pike fished much before you could learn a lot more than just the productive areas.
      It's a hard water though.

Out of interest when was that Terry, also were you targeting the pike or trout?

I've only fished it once and what I have made out is it is moody and difficult but like the lottery you have a chance, a chance of a lump.

Superb pics Terry, I have a pike fly rod in the garage that I have never used. I used to be a member of a syndicate water in Scotland that was crammed with pike, would of been great to fly fish it but I've never done it.
It was a great water for the lures.
