I took my son camping with my friend and his son. Was a bit of a lads and dads trip with a bit of none serious fishing thrown in.
We struggled finding any up to date fishing info on the lakes here hence the main reason for this report. What we did find was negative so we thought we would struggle.
My lad is only 5 so we didn't fish the first day and decided to give it 3 hours on the second day. We took 2 pegs next to lily pads and I was armed with my 4m whip and feeder rod. My friend and his 8 year old son had 2 feeders and a carp rod.
I set the feeder up with hair rigged corn and my whip with double maggot. I was catching a fish almost every time on my whip. They were mostly perch around 4-5oz. After 15 minutes my friend was playing a carp then 15 minutes another both mirror carp just over a pound but fought well above their weight. His son was watching the shear volume of fish I was catching on the whip so changed over to the waggler. I continued to catch perch with the odd rudd and roach to half a pound. I repositioned my feeder rod from the Lilly pads to further out in open water. Within 15 minutes I was into a
carp again a mirror around a pound and a bit.
My mates lad was hauling perch in on the waggler. He even nicked a carp off his dads rod when his dad was having lunch.
Over all in 3-4 hours we must of landed 200 fish between the 4 of us. 4 of these being small carp, the rest made up of mostly perch, some roach and Rudd.
Just wish I took my keep net.
I opted for footy and tennis the 3rd day where my mate and his lad returned, they had a much the same 3 hours consisting of around 40 perch and a carp.

It's a small world, good to meet you mate. Gary said you spotted his rod just about being dragged in. As for Lochmaben we are heading up there for the bream on Sunday/Monday. Just organised the brown crumb and the rest of the bait today with it being a bit short notice.
I'll be doing a quick lure session too as we need to test a new outboard on the boat.
