  • 4 days at The Woodlands

Well people i got back from 4 days in the log cabin last night and i am absolutely goosed, had an amazing time and some class fishing topped by a 20lber on the saturday night and at least 10 10lb+ carp over the 4 days, not gonna put all my pics on coz theres loads but heres a canny few :

    Day 1-
    Our cabin

Decided to fish dragonfly 1st but it was slow going only had 2 stocky Carp and a couple of Skimmers so when the matches were finished we went on Partridge and bagged up fishing the margins catching loads of 7-8lb Carp topped by this 13.5lber

Day 2- Decided to fish Silver birch as its been turned into a big carp lake so i set my feeder rod up for the carp and fished my float rod in the margins, had nowt all day on the feeder so i just entertained myself catching golden rudd on maggots on the float:

When Jimmy came round for the day ticket money i asked him what lake was best for a barbel and he said curlew so we decided to move up to there, after having red hot sun it started to absolutely teem down and it start thundering and lightning so i was stuck under my brolly not fishing for 2 hours, once it stopped i set up again and fished the float with a meatball and hooked into something 1st cast, i was only using my skinny match carp rod with light line and the fish was on for an hour i just couldnt get its head up at all lol, when i finally got it in we weighed it and it turned out to be this 15.3lb Mirror so i was buzzing with that:

I cast back out and had a few other fish then hooked something that felt a lot bigger and after 15 minutes had this 20lb mirror in the net absolutely buzzin!

    Day 3-
We decided to fish Mallard today as it was red hot and there was carp cruising all over, i fished a corner peg using worm and was getting bites every 5 minutes off stockys and skimmers then had this weird looking goldfish

After the matches finished we decided to fish partridge again and once again we were catching on the meatballs this mirror being the biggest of the night

    Day 4-
We fished Curlew today and stayed on for the full day til it was time to go home, had lots of fish in the 9-10lb range but this Koi was a belter

Had another big fish on the meatball and it turned out to be this 16.7 mirror so i was buzzin with that

This was the last fish of the trip i was gutted it was hometime as you can tell haha

All in all it was an amazing trip and im still gutted im back home would love to do it again
