  • Walton Hall - Wakefield

I know it\'s quite a way for most of you, but if you are ever in the area give this place a go:

    http://www.flyfishery.net/

I\'ve been fishing it for 2 years now and it really is a great place to fish. Trout up to around 16lb have been caught, and my best bag was on my first boat fishing trip there...11 rainbows in 5 hours. All the fish are over 2lb and quite a number average 4-5lb. If the trout aren\'t feeding freely you can always catch the perch or put on a large green and black fly and fish for the pike (and there are some nig ones!).

Just got to buy my rod license and I\'ll be off there again!

    Walton Hall.
Gawd, that brings back some memories.
I used to fish it occasionaly years ago, when the owners daughter was a water-ski champion and used to practice on the lake. It actually improved the fishing as it seemed to stir up food from the bottom, so if you cast into the wake you could often get takes when nothing much else was happening.
Course if you mis-timed the cast you stood the chance of your line getting chopped in half.

    Cheers
