I can,t believe they are only anchored with a brick, they will be washed downstream with the first big flood.Especialy when they get full of weed and leaves.
Some bright spark will be getting paid good money for such a stupid idea.
As you say,why don,t they just cull some or better still all of the black pests that are roosting on the dam at Framwellgate.
Also, its not just the Cathedral and Prebends stretch that they are hammering, the last time i had a walk down the Grange stretch below Durham i counted 16 of the fkn things.......

Sign me up for the Cull when it happens.

The stupid F***ing things have decimated the fish stocks in all the local waters to me and then the council only went and put bird friendly islands in one lake - guess what it brought more of them in

Oh forgot to ask is it the cormorants we'd be culling or Defra and local council staff??
        Here fishy, fishy!

i recon the comerants will just treat them as roosting spots... or place to forage and hunt small fish.... What a smart idea to waste money!

i was just thinking tho, they will wash with floods, they will provide fish holding areas making the comerants lives easier, comerants are not stupid birds...
