WEST HOUSE FISHING REPORT 07/06/16
The tagged fish weekend at West House trout lakes was a great success. Over 80 anglers took park in the challenge to catch a tagged fish with a number being caught. Weather conditions were beautiful although the blue skies and lack of wind made for challenging conditions on the Sunday. Over 160 fish were caught and thanks to the anglers who took part and also to Geoff and Dennis for providing the BBQ .The biggest fish over the weekend was a 14lb 9oz Rainbow landed by Trevor Bryant of Dunston, Gateshead. Lots of other fish to 9lb landed , the fish falling to a number of flies and methods
With the nice warm weather there is plenty of insect life so plenty of action either on Dry flies or small natural patterns fished sub surface. The weather looks set to be warm for the rest of the week so fishing early mornings and later in the evening will be beneficial.

Buzzers (black), Black Hopper, Bloodworms, Shipmans, CDC patterns
The lakes are now open from 8am until 9pm every day
Free tea and coffee is now available from the lodge at West house for anglers
