Well lads went up for the credit cruncher. £16 for four fish. 2:30 pm until 8pm (and later when daylight lasts longer).
It was hard work. Started in my favourite spot the Bay of Plenty-but should have listened to Trevor the ranger and went as deep as i could. The bright sunshine put the fish right off. They must have been laying low on the deepest part of the reservoir.
I walked along the North shoreline using a floating line with 18ft leader using a cats whisker,Orange Fritz, Black Frotz and a Dawsons Olive. Long casts and letting the lure sink.
Eventually got one solitary fish Rainbow about Pound and half. I was surprised when it came out as it had a tear in its belly with guts coming out--it looked like a Pike bite.
One of the other anglers supected a comorant but i did,nt see any.
Ended up back in the bay and had one good tug on the line and that was about it.
Enjoyed the day and had my Greys lightweight waders and boots on so very comfortable.
Tight lines Mick. (ps a lot of anglers struggled with the bright sunlight today).
