Arrived at 11-30am to a blue sky and no wind, first time here and a pleasant looking place to fish. Started with a fritz lure on the first lake but things were slow. There were 8 other rods there but never saw a fish for the first hour.
By now i'd changed to a beaded bloodworm and got a 1.1/2lb rainbow, then only one moor pull on that, so went round to the east side as an easterly breeze was starting. Tried a black buzzer accompanied with a pheasant tail but nowt. Then tried a small Dawsons olive and got 3 more rainbows up to 2.1/2lb. With 5mins to go, I put the bloodworm pattern back on and was straight into another rainbow. I'd also had 5 other good pulls in the last 2 hours.
So to me, it was a successful enjoyable 4hrs and my thanks go to fisherman mick who put me on to Hatton trout fisheries. I was on catch and release so no pics.
