Carp Weights

I got some of these from ebay and was wondering if anyones use them before?

Rather unusual to say the least ,don't you think a normal lead would still be Ok as long as it's not shiney ? there must be all sorts on the bed of a lake so the fish must get used to all sorts.
I do like the pebble weights but only because they look good , I think us anglers are caught by looks more than the fish are .

Aye , the carp lads are breed unto themselves , they have some strange ideas , some good ones as well mind , but I honestly think they get carried away a bit sometimes (most of the time ) . They take fishing to a whole new level with their critically balanced hair rigs and such likes.
Some of them have "proved" that the likes of these camo leads work by taking underwater video of carp spooking at the sight of a plain lead , I think it might have had something to do with the little red neon light on the camera flashing on and off when the carp came within shot myself
In all seriousnessness though , if that's what floats your boat and it gives you more confidence ...... go for it
Personally , I'd rather fish with a lump of bread on a hook tied direct to the mainline and fish it floating , though I do recall a particularly wily carp in Willies Well that swam round and round a floating crust with a hook in it and point blank refused to take it , I had to tie a large chunk of crust to the line 9" above the hook and pinch a piece of bread on the hook that sunk below the floating crust ....... worked a treat

I can apprieciate that these are probably a massive selling point on their items but its is pretty cool in watching what happens under water.

Yes mate , I loved the place , I lived in Crawcrook for a while and it was just down the road , I'd fish there from 4am till 8am on a morning before going to work and again at night after work , there were some fabulous tench and crucians in there........... happy days

I am new on here... total novice sea angler (thats why I joined!) but I've been carp fishing for over 15 years. I have fished all over the uk and regulary go to france. I went through all the Korda stage and have finally realised its all a big crock of ****!


A friend grew up with Andy Little and people like that and regardless what the new breed say these guys are fishing the same simple rigs as they were 30 years ago.

Carp fishing is all about location ie finding the fish, decent bait and keeping it simple IMO.


Save your money and spend it on good bait sharp hooks etc

(hope this does not sound big headed but it pains me to see people spending hard earned cash on rubbish)
