Me and Big Tel decided to try the Derwent today as the wind was a tad too strong for the boat. We were ledgering using power bait and worm, and Tel had three fish out in 3 casts within half an hour. After that it was steady going and we ended the day with Tel having 5 Rainbows and a nice Roach, the Rainbows weighed in at 7lb 9oz, and i had 2 Rainbows for 3lb 6oz. At one point i was holding the brolly down while monsoon conditions hammered us.
All in all a good day, but the catch record book back at the lodge was poor reading, loads of blanks and only one angler had 7 fish.

Well done Tel kicked my ass again, But mine was bigger than yours.

welldone mate, av fished derwent a couple of times on the fly and often wondered if there where other species of fish in there, apart from the roach have you ever had owt else? do u reckon there is pike in there?

no pike but the best roach fishing in the north east with fish over 2lb me a mate fish it all the time with maggot feeders and can get up to 30lb/40lb
