FISHING REPORT 23/8/10
Mixed fishing this week with some anglers taking lots of fish but others struggling to tempt them. There are lots of fish feeding on or below the surface but you need to select the correct fly to make the most of the feeding fish as they can by fussy. Small patterns are the answer, buzzers, cdc’s etc
David Peterson a Scottish visitor has a good session landing 15 fish on small CDC patterns on a showery day most fish came to the net during the rain. Simon grant of Darlington caught and returned 8 fish his best a Brown trout of 6lb caught on a Zonker fished under an indicator. Graham Bell caught 5 fish including a double figure fish of 13lb a Black Buzzer doing the damage.
The best flies this week were Diawl Bach’s, Damsels, Crunchers, Invicta, Klinkhammers, Black Hoppers, Hares Ears and mini lures.
The lakes are now open until 9.00 pm on an evening and and evening ticket (4pm onwards) is available for £10.
