right o lads, just a quickie report and i got no pics, well only the 2 Andy sent me
me and Andy got to sharpley approx 1pm closely followed by Shaun then Paul, Cant give to much info on the day as we mostly split up BUT
Andy was first out onto the Albert and Alice and hooked and landed a rainbow approx 2 1/2 - 3lbs whilst we were still having a coffee, i was out next up onto the Cuthbert ( kill only lake) had nowt for a while, then i was joined by Andy and bang he was in again, thats 2 up to now for him, i weighed it and it was 4lbs 5oz,Andy left to go to the noose i think but i was joined by davy and gary, hard work today said davy when bang fish on i said, gets the fkr approx 4ft from the net and it spit the fly (apps bloodworm), well the next 4 casts were exactly the same, fish on, fish gone, not gonna be my day i said, anyway after about an hour, davy had nowt but then gary hooked and lost 1, so i decided to go for a coffee, on the way i was met by Andy who showed me a nice LITTLE fish, a brownie that went on the scales at 5lbs 7oz, So Andys got a new PB rainbow of 4 1/2 lbs and a first ever still water brownie of 5 lbs 7 oz, EXCELLENT, Andy went on to tell me that he hooked into a fish on the noose that was running him all over and he could do nowt with it and shaun was taking the pi** whilst this was going on, anyway it snapped him off. Anyway Andy had caught on all 5 lakes but as he was heading to scotland in the early hours there lass came to pick him up early, about 5 ish i think it was.
So of to the doxy i went and was joined by Paul, could`nt find the fish so i decided to cast into the aerators white water hoping the fish were there for oxygen, BANG fish takes off, nice and heavy, go on my son i thought as it stopped i tried to pull it back it but it just took off then SNAP, bang went my leader,FK it i said, defo not my day. Next cast, snagged on the cables for the aerator, lost my new olive damsel.
off to the hangmans (dry fly), what do you know first cast first fish landed GET IN i said, swiftly followed by another then another. I seen Paul fishing the Noose then onto the Doxy and Shaun on the Doxy as well.
Then Paul was off home, followed by me and shaun half an hour later.
As far as i am aware the final scores of the day were Andy 5, Me 3, Paul 2 or 3 and shaun 1. red hot day, probably to hot truth be told, even the fish were quite warm, but a great day had by everyone, especially Andy. I have 2 pics to put up but think Andy has a few more which might be added possibly tomorrow when he is back from scotland
