FISHING REPORT 27/04/09
This week saw temps rising to 16 deg at the ponds with water temps to 12, this has resulted in a lot of moving fish with good bags all round . buzzers -blobs -zonkers -and orange snatchers doing the damage as well as many other well used flies. Dry flies nad beetles have been catching plenty of fish at times during the day.
Paul Chaytor has again got a big fish with a fin perfect rainbow of 16lb from Horseshoe Paul is having a terrific season landing a 25lb Carp last week on his last cast of the day on a Cats Whisker !. This fish took 30 minutes to land and made him late for work . Also a 15.2 fish from Mill lake fell to Nigel Humble from Tow Law. Many anglers have caught over 10 fish this week some notable catches including Peter Willis from Thirsk who landed 15 fish caught on either Black Buzzers or a foam Beetle. William Johnstone from Darlington caught 11 fish including a perfect Brown trout of 6lb +. Average bag is 4.6 per angler over 8 days
