I fish up there all the time mate. I normally use flies all the time but occasonially ledger fish at Pow Hill or at the dam. I use a running ledger with a small weight. Power bait eggs (i use yellow) are good but to increase your chances a lot of people use feeders. You can buy them in the shop at the reservoir with the magic powder. If you want to float thats ok as well-or spin. Was up there last Sunday-cold but plenty of fish at the disabled spot at the dam. The shop also sells worms for the float fishing.

What a bummer. I was up last Friday. 10 am till 7pm (closing time). Started off at the dam on the North side-then went to Pow hill and tried the fly, then to bay of plenty then back to the North side of the dam. Caught my first at 5pm on a fritz back at the Dam, then the rangers stocked the dam area and i caught 4 more on a cats whisker. Mind it was like shooting apples in a barrel as place choca with trout. Kept 4 and let the last one go.
