              carp

Leazes Park ( LPAA) slap bang next door to St James Park. Day tickets are available at the park or if your a member of a club you may be able to obtain an exchange ticket.Wansbeck and Cramlington Angling Club have some decent waters. Both the LPAA and WACAC have there own web sites if further information is required.

Silksworth perhaps? I've not fished it myself, but the blokes who run it certainly seem like they put a lot of care and effort into the place.

If there's not more than one water called lakeside? At the last lpaa meeting this place was on the agenda.members were informed that the owner of the pub also owned the water which there were plans to build on the land? Bottom line closed to fishing.

ON SATURDAY NIGHT THE LPAA ARE HAVING THERE FIRST OVERNIGHTER BEING HELD AT LEAZES PARK,MEMBERS ARE MEETING FROM 1730 PEGS BEING DRAWN AT 1800 FISHING STARTS AT 1900 SATURDAY FINISHES 0700 SUNDAY. MAY BE WORTH GIVING THE PARK A VISIT AND TALK TO THOSE FISHING.

Leazes Park used to be brilliant around 15-20 years ago now. Carp, tench, Roach and Rudd in abundence. Used to have cracking matches with plenty of fish caught.

...Alas they removed alot of the fish because they thought it 'stunted' there growth and it was dredged. Place was on a slipperey slope from then on. Non of my mates bother with the place now so i presume its crap. Might still be a few carp in though.

The best place for coarse fishing North of the Tyne is Whittle Dene IMO. Just like the leazes used to be with Roach but u can catch skimmers and the odd carp also. U also don't have people constantly walking round the lake.

Killingworth Big lake has some huge carp in.

                          Carp

                          Cod,Cod,Cod. Wrong,Wrong,Wrong.
Leazes Park last year produced a Carp a tad short of 28lb.This year so far the lake has produced a record 18lb Mirror and more. Given the fish will all of lost weight over the winter months, their all going to get bigger. So in my opinion your comments on the Carp fishing in Leazes Park is wrong.
Your mate might not bother because either they were fishing for the small stuff or because the parks a park there lots of public about disturbing you.
And you did mention Carp in the first line of your post.

I actually never mentioned the Carp fishng If u read my post mate and was mainly on about silver fish and the match fishing scene which has died a death on the park.

I actually said there might be a few carp in there though.

The place used to be brilliant and apparently even better before I fished it!

The LPAA members have raised their concerns over the lack of silver fish in the water. In the past few weeks commitee members came across a problem with drainage pipes etc and managed to save an estimate 2 to 3 thousand fish so the bits lads may have a better season if the problem/s uncoverded can be rectified.
