Reason: pictures
Which part of reservoir did you fish and were you on the fly or ledgering.
I called up last week to Pow Hill and had a poor day blanked with 1 bite on the power bait/worm.
Even put a float out with orange fritz on 8' trace nothing mate.
Glad to see you caught and they're a good size.
I thought it was just me. I fished Pow Hill for a few hours on Mon 22/03/2010. Had nowt -not even a bite. Used powerbait on a running ledger rig.
Think the best method will be to buy a feeder and stuff it with magic dust they sell in the shop at the Derwent. You can also use maggots in the feeder. Then power bait on my hook.
Truth is i prefer the old fly fishing but wind spoilt it for first half of my day.
Mick.
Deffo mate. I was using a closed feeder with magic dust in and even changed it to power bait paste, still nothing.
Will be back up in few days and will try the fly although still a novice at it I think Ive caught me nose, ears and the back of me head more than I have fish.
Never used maggots JJ is there any in particular or just plain old maggots.
It's worth a chuck mate, do you bait them on the hook through the body or through the front of the head as I believe they have a natural hole there or am I barking up the wrong tree. How many you usually place on hook.
get fresh maggots either plain or mixed i try either power bait or the artificial floating maggots you get them off ebay for about £1.90 a packet . as your bait will be floating off the floor so it will be (probbibly) easier for the fish to see your bait
