FISHING REPORT 18/03/09
The temperatures are slowly rising and hopefull the night frosts have gone at last. The fish are mow becoming more active and there have been some good hatches of Buzzers in the afternoon sunshine. All the lakes are fishing well with most anglers catching using a variety of methods, lures deep on the colder mornings and Buzzers and Mini lures fished up in the water as the temperatures rise.
Local angler Dan Sefton had a good day landing 9 fish including in his haul a Rainbow of 10lb and two Brownies of 6lb and 4lb.
Peter Smith of Stockton landed 8 fish his best a Rainbow of 12lb most of his fish caught on Black Buzzers. Nigel Worthington of Richmond caught a nice rainbow of 15lb on a Cats Whisker. Brothers William and Peter Moody had an excellent day catching 17 fish between them including 4 Brown trout to 6lb.
The best flies this week were Black or Olive Zonkers, Diawl Bach, Nomads, Red bloodworms Cats Whiskers, Black buzzers, and Mini lures.
