  • Pike fishing

A question for any Pike anglers that fish the lochs in SW Scotland.
Ive fished most of the lochs in this area for the last 20 years but never loch URR.
Has anyone fished here,is it free or day ticket?.
Whats it like for lure fishing?.

Any help would be most appreciated...Cheers.

is that the one up by callander ?? if so you get a ticket in a newsagents in the town, or did so when i was there 15 years ago, i spent a week there, personally tried everything from live bait to spinners, off the bank, in a boat, caught sod all, the balliff who checked my ticket warned me about fishing in the dark and the red deer, be carefull around them, allthough one evening i could hear a few close too me i never saw one

    hope this helps

Loch urr was one of my favorite lakes until last year ,it was about this time of year,[weather was a bit warmer] .We had fished this lake for about 2 years with no bother at all, same place and about once a month ,then for no reason the farmer came over and told us to get off the lake ,we had just set up and had to leave ,it was very annoying ,so we had to head to castle douglas .I contacted the scottish touring board and they said he should not have moved you,but he did, so its up to you my friend, nice place but not worth it in my experience,to answer your question of the fee,the lake is free to fish, but watch out for mad farmers.Hope this has answered your questions----Karl
