The fishing is good at bolam but the dog walkers and kids can be a bit of a nightmare!

Would Bolam be worth a try fly fishing for pike? It's something I've thought about trying for years but never got round to it.

Casting would be a problem. The lake is surrounded by trees and shrubs. The areas which are clear would present a backcast danger to the puplic. This place is busy all year round with visitors. It is also full of Canadian Pond Weed and dead branches so you would be forever snagging.

Ah well, just a thought. I've read that some of the smaller lakes in the Lake District are worth a try for pike on the fly so I could try there instead.
