  • Pike Waters In the NE

Hi all wanting some information on pike waters in the northeast,if possible.

Could any one tell me what the average size of the pike go up to in bolam lake, all so could any one tell me the price to fish it day ticket and season ticket, and if you have season ticket can you night fish it.

Also does Killingworth lake (big one) still have pike if so what sort of size are they.

Im in WACAC Club,so i can fish the QEII,and fish Killingworth lake << (tyne angler alliance) so killi is free to fish, but was wondering the size of pike in there as ive never fished it.

Any help would be Great especially Bolam lake,as all i can find on the net are prices from like 3 yrs ago,and no information on it.

    Thx...Vamp

QEII lake at Ashington has pike in as far as I know, don't know what the score is with getting a pass/permit though.

Thx for all the help guys, ive fished loch ken & loch foot for them a few times, had some good fish, think ill wait till the weather breaks before going back up there as its a long trek.

Now this snow/ice is melting should free up the lakes from ice (hopefully).

Just phoned bolam the lass told be 6 pounds a day or if you want a season ticket its 26 pounds, season closes in march she said so no piont getting a yearly ticket till june 15th,get the season ticket from the post office up there, when season starts again, she all so said only thing you can do there is deadbait,no plugs, spinners, groundbait, ect.

Sweethope-just phoned them, you can fish for pike till about the middle of feb, then they switch back to the trout, the lads had a 25lb fish on fly while trout fishing and his kids had one 14lb so theres some nice fish up there to be had,you can also use the boats upthere to fish for them, might be better as you could cover the area.

The lad reckons the ice up there at the minute is going to be there for a long time yet,all so theres approx 5ft of snow up there on the roads, prob higher with the snow drifts in some parts.

                  Once again thx

To fish the QE at ashington you either buy a day ticket from mcdermotts ashington for about 3.50 aday.

Theres some very nice pike in there as well as some big carp/bream/roach/perch/also hybrids oh and some huge eels.

Or you could join the club, its called WACAC (wansbeck and cramlington angling club) its approx 32 pounds a year and think its 10 pounds joining fee(could be wrong about price of joining fee),but the following year you only pay 32 pounds.

Membership lets you fish Brenkley,Hortan,QEII,Also Milkhope(when milkhope project is complete)

Also lets you fish about 7-8 waters from tyne anglers alliance,so not a bad price to fish all them places.

Oh and a valid rod licence is needed, cheaper buying a year one as the price of a day licence is far to high.
