FISHING REPORT 27/10/09
All lakes are fishing very well at the moment. This weather has really brought the fish on to feed. Still plenty of fish being caught on Dry flies which is amazing for this time of the year. The lakes have benefited from some Double stocking recently with a large number of fish in the 5-8lb range being introduced. Plenty of Brown trout have been showing this week as they chase the fry in the margins.
Four doubles this week. Best fish was a 16lb 20z Rainbow caught by West House regular Ernie Craster, the fish was taken on a Blob fished on an intermediate line. John Morrison caught a Rainbow of 13lb and William Streat one of 12lb, both anglers using Lure patterns. The fourth double was caught by Fishery owner David Leak a nice fish of 11lb which took a Black Buzzer. Jordan Price had a good day landing 16 fish on a variety of Zonkers.
The best flies this week were Black Zonkers, Olive Zonker, Cats Whiskers, Foam Daddy's, Black Hoppers, Hot head damsel and mini lures.
