well i was off to sharpley friday gone, fished from 1.15 til around 8pm, fished with 3 mates, 2 of us now have new PBs, not big by most peoples standards, but still my biggest trout to date of 5lb 6oz and to top that off it was caught on my first home made lure.
nice fish its a good feeling wen you catch on a homemade fly.
i was over the moon, people were asking what i caught it on, all i could reply was " on a lure of white, pink and green maribou". I felt a bit silly as it was one i just made up because i liked the colours lol, but it worked
Well done Jimmy. I was up at Derwent the other day with my missus and the dog having a walk out. Saw a rainbow pulled in by the dam.
I have gave the fly a miss for a bit.
Two reasons last couple of outings caught nowt and i seem to have a "repetative strain " injury in my left arm bicep (no jokes please). Its feels odd, came on when i had seven outings in quick succession a few weeks ago. I am right handed and cast with my right arm. Left pulls the line in.?.
I,ll be back though.
