  • fishing today Thurs 09/04/09.

Well lads me and my son went up to Waskerly today but it looked uncomfortable fishing in the wind so we decided to have anothr bash at the Derwent. Was hoping for a tiger trout and had to settle for a little browny caught by my son on worm. The water was like the north sea with waves lapping. Tried the bay of plenty and felt a couple of tugs on the black fritz but called it a day at 6pm.I blanked.
My lad enjoyed himself as we bought a big brolley which came in handy when the rain started.

I,m sure when its choppy the water gets cloudy and this affects the fishing as the fish cannot see the lure as well.
There was an old hand fished down from us then across the bay-he gave up after half an hour. Wind and rain and rough water got the better of him.
I would have stayed for another couple of hours but Mc Donalds was calling for my young un.
Wen putting my stuff in the car after bait fishing at Pow Hill some lads were saying some fella had caught a 10lb plus rainbow by them.
