    FISHING REPORT 6/4/09

Some nice mild weather this week has really brought the fish onto the feed . There has been some excellent catches this week with most fish falling to small patterns including buzzers, nymphs and dries. The Brown Trout have also been showing with a number being caught up to 5lb in weight.

Peter Johnson of Crook had another excellent day landing 12 fish including a Brown of 41/2lb most of the fish being caught on a size 12 black Buzzer. Anthony Wainwright caught a nice Rainbow of 16lb one of 12 fish he caught on dries and small patterns. William Richardson of Chester le Street caugh a Rainbow of 14lb on a cats Whisker and lost another at the net estimated to be larger.

The lakes are now open until 8pm on an evening and opening times will be extended as the days get longer.

It's a nice place Mick, fished it a few times and it's one of the places that stock double figure Carp in the main lake. Dave Mordue from Sharpley caught one and it took him down to the backing and twice round the island. Hard to catch though.

For me in Hebburn, it's a canny drive, about as far as Jubilee for me but worth a visit.
