A bumper Spring stocking too place at West House this week. 400 Rainbows were stocked sizes ranging from 2- 18lb along with 50 Brown Trout at 2 - 3lb. The new lake 'Fox lake' has also been stocked and will be open for fishing from Sat 21st March. This lake will be limited to Dry Fly, Nymphs, or Buzzers only. The water in this lake is crystal clear and looks a perfect stalking lake.
The new fishing lodge is now open at West House. This will provide anglers with somewhere comfortable to take a break during their fishing. Tea, coffee and soup is available. Please feel free to use this facility
There has been some good sport this week with the milder weather. Buzzers and even Dries have been taking fish. Wayne Dent of Stockton landed a number of fish including a Rainbow of 14lb 4oz caught on a Damsel Nymph. Peter Johnson of Crook had an excellent session catching 15 fish up to 7lb on Black Buzzers. William Pearson of Guisborough and his partner Gary James caught a total of 16 fish on Dries and various small patterns their best fish a Brown of 4lb and a Rainbow of 8lb.
