      Flextec 66 rod 5/6

I bought a new Flextec 5/6 fly rod 10.5 ft from e-bay, seller was Tacklediscounts and it is superb only cost £38 + p/p. On the Flextec website the same rod is £245 unbelievable.
My pal who has been fly fishing for 20 yrs thought I was taking the mickey but when he used the rod he was impressed as he swears by grey/hardys.

Ive addded a photo from Tacklediscounts worth while checking it out.
The rod is finished to a high standard and comes with cloth cover and woven fabric tubing.

      Hope this helps.

hi tom, i have the 9'6 7/8 wt and enjoy using that mate if its any help. 3 or 4 of us got the same rod at about the same time. 2 of the lads snapped the tip section within 'minutes' of each other. don't think they were faulty rods, more a case of the boys pulling the line through at an extreme angle. (week one stuff i know, but they've learnt their lesson) we all also had problems with the tip sections coming loose on a regular basis, but candle wax has solved that one. not bad rods at all. another option could be the orvis western 2 that are on offer at glasgow angling centre (think it was there anyway) 50 quid off, now 99 quid if i'm not mistaken. they have a good reputation

I have had 2 of the GRXI rods 7/8 and also the greys reels good bit of kit for the money

Biggest fish i had on was around 7-8lb maybe more maybe less as i saw it in the margins and it was only on for a few seconds but the rod handled it fine

Have a look at the scierra range also for a good range of rods

I have been looking at a grxi rod outfit with a greys reel and three spools with three lines loaded and set to go.£170.
I am still using my starter kit for the Derwent which is good but i have added some ramshakle reels with intermediate line which is slow sinking and sinking line which is not so good.
I have took to this sport and fancy an upgrade for the next season.

                  Yorkshire Game Angling

If you're thinking of investing in new fly tackle, you could do worse than accessing Y.G.A. online catalogue

Pal of mine purchased a couple of rods from them and they are excellent AND at around a quarter of the price you would pay elsewhere (ther's nee middle-man).

I've dealt with them for years for all sorts of hardware and found them to be absolutely reliable and keenly priced.

yep, lifetime warranty on all greys rods. the boys had no probs replacing the tip sections, one paid the 'admin' fee of about 25 quid and the other kicked off about the rod being fit for purpose and he got his replaced for nowt of course no body got wound up about that
