  • Derwent Reservoir start of season.

    The reservoir opens this saturday 14th March 8am till 5pm and the water is mid to high according to the rangers. Also stated that the reservoir is well stocked with some hungry fish.
    This weekend should be a corka whether ledgering or using the fly as its never been fished since november.

      more high to very high than mid! just drove past half an hour ago on my way home

        Hgh sounds good to me!! Last time a fished there it was really high and done ok,so fingers crossed

          its probably only dropped 3 or 4 feet since its really high state of a couple of months ago

          bay of plenty probably be the place to be, if you fish the far side of the yacht club, gan canny if your wading... the edges are mostly under water!

            Hello lads-The Derwent is vitually on me doorstep.
            Been up this aftey with the dog checking it out. There is a new wieghing in hut now outside the main building.This has the signing in amount of wieght of fish/book open One of the rangers was talking to me. The main building is now used for tackle sales. Sonic seems flavour of the month.
            Water is not as high as it was. But its not low either.
            IT LOOKS REALLY REALLY GOOD FOR FISHING. and is well stocked.
            I,m nights this weekend so i,ll miss the mad rush.

              any 1 nar the prices for fishing this season was talking to a lad and he told me it was 28 quid this season for using 1 rod any1 comfirm this as it seems rather high

                I believe priices are frozen due the recession.
                Had another walk round this aftey with the dog. My neighbour was uo. He caught a 9lb rainbow on powerbait.Wind was a nightmare for fly fishing lads
                Think it will be very busy Sunday-forecast is looking good re the weather.

                  Wheynaar, it's £20 and you can be accompanied by up to two under 17's sharing your bag limit

                      All set up for tomorrow-flies sorted,ripped realtree coat sewn,old flies hoyed out,sunglasses wiped down,reels checked,looks good for the weather-up as soon as i,ve done my few chores and made my flask and sandwiches.
                      10:30 till kicking off time-i will let you know how i get on.
