FISHING REPORT 24/11/08
3rd leg of the Winter Series took place this weekend and once again we were not helped by the weather. Artic winds produced below zero temperatures and congratulations to all who fished and braved the intense cold. We must be due for some kinder conditions for these qualifiers ?
Peter Crowe and Paul Moore both started quickly landing a fish each in the first two minutes of the match, Peters being a superb 18lb Rainbow which took some landing considering he managed to get a knot in his fly line. Both finished on their first peg with 2 fish each. Jim Tuck has a productive but frustrating morning session landing 3 fish but missing and losing at least another 6 fish. Jim finished the morning session in the lead along with Ali Tait who landed 3 fish on his last move and missing numerous other chances. Most fish on the morning appeared to be falling to buzzers fished under an indicator.
After lunch it was onto Mill Lake with conditions getting colder if that was possible. Jim Tuck found the going tough and was unable to add to his mornings score but plent of anglers picked up odd fish with at one point 8 anglers all sharing the lead with 3 fish. Peter Crowe however fished steadily with a Black and White Zonker to catch fish on all his afternoon pegs and finished on a total of 8 fish. Stuart Conway also fished steadily to finish on 5 and a further 3 anglers finished on 4 fish to share the minor places.
