if you go towards the derwent from the a68 at kilnpit hill its about 250 yards before the entrance to the sailing club and about the same distance past the turn off for Cronckley on the left. its a pretty obvious bay at the side of the road.

or 250 yards past the sailing club if you come around from the other end!

probably drove past you on me way home!

aye the its canny full still and will probably get a bit fuller yet, takes a couple of weeks to top out after a spell of rain

cannt see it getting any fuller the water level is at the top of the over spill any more and it will just over flow took these when we had the floods but yesterday it was just a trickle compared to then

All the peat on the fells up here hold the water like a big sponge then releases it over a couple of weeks. Got some pics from last month somewhere, the reservoir was about half a mile longer, backed right back up to the carricks picnic area at the blanchland end. from the road side you could of cast into it

got some pic's I'll try hunt out of it a few years back at the other extreme. lowest I'd ever seen it. There was a road bridge appeared in the middle, fully tarmaced, cats eyes, whitelines the lot and what was left of new houses village also put its head above water

Nice report, nice one etc etc

This has been getting on my tits for ages now. That is people that only use this site to say 'nice one mate' or 'nice report, thanks' and just general rubbish like that! WHATS THE POINT!

If this is just to get your amount of posts up and make you a 'senior member' (BIG WOOHOO), really just don't bother!

                      Rant over.

I had the pleasure of checking out the big house that backs out onto the reservoir. The alarms went off years ago when i was a young cop. It must be great to meander down the garden and wet a line in your stretch of reservoir.

Whoa fellas - WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? Lads read a post and say well done, can't see the harm in it personally. Most of the well dones are also followed by an extra comment as well.

                              Silly Messages

There isn't a problem, just gets on my nerves when SOME people only reply with 'nice one mate' etc etc.

DO THESE PEOPLE ACTUALLY GO FISHING??? Or are they to busy getting their post numbers up typing 'well done' in EVERY thread.

If you want, I will start a thread and ask the moderators to make it a sticky specifically for people that want to get their post numbers up.

                              Good Idea????
