Had another visit to this fine wet a line place and had a great time along with my two mates Ronnie and Sheppie.
The wind wasn't as bad as forecasted so that was a pleasant surprise, the rest of the day was really bright and this seemed to keep the fish down.
The high point of my day was my second cast using a set up of a PTN on the point with two small black nymhps on the droppers on a floating line. I was just getting into the swing of things when my line shot out and went speeding across the lake, after a while an estimated 5lb Brownie came to the net and I can honestly say it was one of the most colourful fish I have ever seen, even my mate who has fished for years says it was one of the best colours and the best quality he has come across.
The rest of the day gave us some good action with Bows falling to a variety of patterns but funny enough buzzers weren't very high on the taking list.
We witnessed fish being stocked and I can only say that this fishery is stocking fish of the highest quality and there were browns stocked that must have been in the 8/9lb bracket, somebody will have a cracking time when one of these are on the end of their line.
Well thats it for now folks so tight lines and the best of luck.

    Excellent......

a 5lb. brownie. wow, nice one.
It's a thin line that seperates an Angler from a madman standing on the beach in january at midnight in -5 degrees with a northerly wind blowing in your face

Nice one seddo mate. I've yet to catch a brownie on the fly and dont think i'll be lucky enough to get one anywhere near the 5lb mark.

      Cheers

Well done Seddo. The brownie i caught at the Derwent river after it had been stocked fought like a mad dog.
