  • Whinney Loch

Fished Whinney Loch today with a couple of my mates and we had a cracker of a day with fish falling to a number of various patterns.
The morning was a tad cool and fish were predominately on bloodworm fished just under the surface, black was the best colour with pink running a close second. Black buzzers gave a few bends in the rod but the best part of our day was mid afternooon when the temperature rose a few degree's, fish started to top and tail and we had some great sport with CDC Shuttlecocks and Sedge patterns.
Quite a few of our fly's were passed on to other anglers and they also had some good sport, our tally for the day ranged in the high twenties for the three of us and all fish were safely released.
Thanks to Linebar (Andy) and Stew for some of their information from previous visits as this helped us to select some of our successful patterns.
As always Ted Wise was a brilliant host and he certainly has this fishery buzzing, the fish may not be the biggest we have encountered on our travels but the ones that came to the net were cracking quality.
Definately a place to have another visit or even two or three
