    Alrite lads,

Thinkin of catching some trout on saturday as i can't get out on boat, was wondering what effect all this rain will have on the resevoir and my chances of catching? Someone once told me i was better float fishing when the resevoir is full, any truth in that? Are there any prefered tactics when bait fishing in this sort of weather? Will be trying to get on dam wall as usual but don't think it will be open. any ideas?

walk along the grass around untill ur right next to the nature reserve.
float fishing try the trace at differat lengths untill you find the fish,
ledgering is doing well in that area also, use try the hook length from 1foot but no bigger than 2, powerbait eggs and a worm cocktail will see you into the fish, but dont cast to far i normal get them from around the 35-40 yard mark

thanks mate, went up saturday and blanked. The water was very coloured and there was a big sign up saying it is not fishing well at the minute. Tried everything, floating and ledgering with different hook lengths. tried different bait and even had half an hour spinning. Tried 4-5 different spots round the resevoir too - no joy. not one person had caught that i asked (even the lads fly fishing )

Fontburn is completely different now to what it was a few years ago.

It was very poor up at Derwent reservoir on Sunday. Loads of water gushing out of the overflow at the dam wall. Lads struggling to catch. The rese is choca full of water.
