How was the A694? We went past yesterday afternoon and for a while, I almost wondered whether we were going to make it, the road was under that much water. I don't think I've ever seen a road with a current before!
if the A694,is the road coming off a1 and going across roundabout to rowlands gill it was closed today,
That's the one. Blimey! I'm kind of surprised it was open yesterday - it really was raging, particularly at Winlaton Mill, when it was met with a real torrent coming off the hill down the side of one of the houses!
levels are starting to drop, had to drive through there a couple of times yesterday and today.
You could fish the derwent reservoir from your car its that high!
Out here in the hills even the little burns were causing havoc, some of the houses in Blanchland were flooded, the small bridge in the village here is now on its way to sunderland and there's more to come by all accounts
The supreme irony of all this is that we've now got no water in the house (or anyone in the street for that matter), Rang Northumbrian Water, who said yes the water supply has been interupted because theres too much water coming through the village. Eh? hows that work then

Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs
Was down Allensford today. Water is still massive but dropping away. Also had a ride up to the reservoir at Derwent. Loads of water. Spoke to a guy fishing near the dam wall. His daughter had a Rainbow to 7lb. The family were fishing on the bottom.Surprised any fish caught. Noticed most people fishing use the feeders instead of wieghts.
Stanhope was the same story massive river.
