FISHING REPORT W/E 02/09/08
Fishing seems to be improving all the time as the weather settles. Water is starting to clear nicely but like most smallwaters weed is a problem at the moment in certain parts of the lakes. Small patterns are working very well at the moment. Buzzers, Nymphs and small Dry flies are all catching fish. REMEMBER TWO FLIES can now be used at West House
Regular West House angler Peter Fletcher of Eaglescliffe had a good day landing a total of 10 fish on small patterns. Joe Brown of Bedlington made his longer journey worthwhile when he caught 14 fish and S Campbell caught a total of 31 fish over two days. Jonathon Dixon of Barnard Castle landed a superb fish of 16lb 4oz. He spotted a fish rising in a sheltered bay and tempted it with a Daddylonglegs. Richard Rowlands of Stockton caught 7 fish including a nice Blue of 9lb 6oz using Black Buzzers.
Flies of the week :- Shipmans, Hares Ear, Black or Olive buzzers. Black Spinner, Montana, Fritz, Pheasant Tail Nymphs, Cats Whisker
