fished bessy beck on thursday near penrith. had 9 fish best 9lb 8 oz. three fish bag weighed 17lb. beautiful place similar to jubillee but without all the rules. best flie twinkle hares ear size 16. old man had one 11lb and 17lb on hares ear. theres also a smaller lake packed with so many fish you can walk across on there backs! seriously though you can go there if you cant catch on the main lake. one chap had nil on main lake, went there and had three in four casts. average fish in main lake 3-4lb with lots of doubles up to 18lb. smaller lake 1-2lb. theres also a bait lake for small children, while dads chase the bigguns. website as well. well worth a day out, easy to get to. a69 join m6 juntion 38 turn left fishery 2 mins on right.
