Arrived at the fishery this morning for the first time and was immediately stunned by the scenery, the Loch and the whole layout of the place.
Ted Wise greeted us at his house and was ever so friendly, he gave us the lowdown as to how the place was fishing , what patterns were taking and a very detailed explanation of what he was trying to achieve for the fishery. After a bit of banter we headed for the lodge and we were flabbergasted when we looked inside, much more than anyone wants when spending a day away, EXCELLANT.
Fishing
Fish were topping all over the place as we were setting up and when we finally hit the water we were into fish straight away, once again bloodworms were on the trouts menu and I found a pink pattern to be very productive. After releasing a few trout I changed to a size 16 black buzzer and this accounted for a couple of well finned fish.
My two mates were quickly into fish using mini lures(max size 10 as per fishery rules) , a few other anglers arrived and after a bit of craic they were also into fish early on.
The dam wall and the sides of the Loch nearest the dam wall were the hot spots on the day although a smattering of takes were evident elsewhere on the Loch.
All in all I released ten cracking bows and must have had at least half a dozen drop offs, Ronnie released seven with a few drop offs and Sheppie had a similar sort of day.
This fishery has been in many people's dispatches and evey comment has been absolutey positive, believe me fella's, have a toddle up to Whinney Loch and see the gem that it is for yourselves, you won't be disappointed.
Cheers
