Just arrived back from Chatton after a very cold day , especially this morning. Started to fish around about 08.30 and first fish was caught on a nomad,(after reading T.Ls report ) well you have to follow the main man
Finger tips were like blocks of ice after a dozen casts and even retrieving the line was a hardship, looking across the hills and seeing them covered in snow didn't help either.
Surprisingly fish were being caught fairly regular on a variety of lines, floater, intermediate, fast sink and the patterns being used were also a mixed bunch. Fritz flys were the main killer in the morning along with bloodworm and cormorants ( not the bird ), as the day wore on it got a shade warmer and black buzzers came into there own. The dam wall and the East side of the lake were the most productive areas and with a fair stocking arriving mid afternoon it looks good for the weekend.
As usual Allison and Rodger were their excellant selves and with their style of management they are definately heading in the right direction.
Myself and my two friends bagged up no bother and with a few fish safely returned it was another good trip to Chatton.
Off for a cup of coffee so tight lines gents and be safe.
