Gordon, name not really important, easy to think of a name and find out later it already exists.
I know only to well about this, i called one of rods by the name of Longbeach only to find the name was the same as a penn longbeach reel. I knew about the reel but in my ignorance i thought because mine was a fishing rod and named Reelsport Longbeach it wouldnt matter, how wrong i was, i got threats from penn solicitors who forced me to change the name to Response.
Lucky for you Scuds not a registered name for a fly.
The important thing is the fly catches fish and at the end of the day the name aint gonna change how it catches.
If people think you are an idiot, why speak and remove all doubt !

      price

you can buy ian barrs flies for between one pound fifty and two pound fifty each, yes each, if you like, but they dont work in northern waters. i do plenty flies for anglers in the north east and they come back with repeat orders because they know the effort thats been made to ensure there giving themselves the best chance of catching. tip. keep a diary of each fishing trip, date wheather, location, best fly, flies used etc. at the end of the year tot it all up and keep your ten best patterns. this way your giving yourself the best chance each year. ive got it down to about 6 lures, 6 buzzers, 3 bloodworms, 6 nymphs. of course youll get the day when a pink/blue thing works, but give yourself the best chance by using the patterns that have come top of your list over the year. makes sense! all those 15mins used with something thats useless add up. i.d has some of my patters but not all. no, i dont know everything, and there are better anglers than me, but if i can pass on some tips that were passed on to me and lt helps dont knock it.

        thanks

cheers yours truly. at the beggining i called it a super scud because it resembled a scud missle in shape. anyway call them what you like they work and lots of lads trying them have had success. have to think about names in future, but my other flies such as burl ives and dinky do havent appeared on flie sites so at least those names are ok! good fun trying to come up with names. s...e is agood one for all the flies that dont work!
