WEST HOUSE FISHING REPORT 26/4/14
Really good fishing this week. The milder weather is helping and we are getting lots more anglers. Plenty of dry fly action when the sun shines and the temperature rises. Small black beetles or f flies fished on the edge of the ripple are proving very effective. Most fish are high in the water. This week we have stocked over 200 fish including a number of Rainbows to 14lb and also some lovely Brown trout between 6 and 8lb each - these will give an incredible fight when caught
The rod average this week is 7.9 with very few people managing to blank. The best fish of the week was a 11lb Rainbow caught by Simon Ruteledge of Leyburn who caught the fish on a small Cats Whisker. The fish was returned unharmed. William Porham of Stockton caught 22 fish the best estimated at 7lb most falling to Beetles and Black buzzers. Shaun Burnside season ticket holder from Heighington landed 22 fish in one day using a variety of flies
The fishery is now open until 8pm every evening
