  • Fly Tying Demo last night

Went to my first demo organised by Durham flyfishers last night at Meadowfield British Legion. What a nice bunch of people many of whom seriously knew their onions. The demonstrator was Alan Bithell and he was amazing. I could see bog all but was spellbound never the less.

ahh it'll of been smoke and mirrors and a gang of nimble fingered chinese ladies under the table, knocking em up, bit sleight of hand and here's one I made earlier

    Thought for the day:
Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

He's also a close up magician and did a mad trick pushing a tab through a playing card. also showed us how to make a furled leader using beer bottles as stanchions.
