  • New year - New Challenge - Salmon

After much help and advice on a couple of salmon / flyfishing forums I have taken a tackle plunge

    Shakespeare Oracle 13ft rod
    Shakespeare Plfueger reel
    Snowbee 1D Floating line
    Various poly leaders

Will be tying my own flies

I have NO idea how to cast this rod apart from the odd u-tube clip and many wrtitten instructions so will be looking for some lessons. Anyone know a local speycasting instructor?

The bit of the Wear I live next to is going to get a serious seeing to next year - apologies to those fishing upstream, I'll try to leave them as untraumatised as possible.

Can I have lots of salmon tying materials please for a small fee

I am starting my salmon fishing as I intend to end it - as an expert.

Experts carry one box of flies maybe 5 patterns that's all I need to master.

Experts take one step down a pool before making a cast - I can deal with that

Experts can cast a bit - I'm taking the lessons

Experts do not wear baseball caps - I getting a new hat

Being an expert does not garauntee fish - had that one covered from the start

salmon bob - help me please. Are you a local person of sound mind and body with a CRB check? Can I come fishing with you please. I am very quiet and respectful in real life.
