  • Tweeddale again

Spent a day at Tweeddale on Tuesday with a couple of mates and we had a great time, freezing cold in the early morning but the fish were in an obliging mood and we caught and released a double, an 8lb, a few at 5/6 and quite a few smaller fish.
Catching patterns were Red lures in the morning, buzzers later on and CDC, daddies, shipmans when the fish showed on the top.

£12 for 6hrs catch and release, not a bad price to pay for a days sport and to be in good company.

    Cheers all

Yep it was a good day out but fishing as you will probably know, bomb up to Tweeddale full of expectations and guess what , the fish appear to have migrated to a fishery near to your home town.
I would class my adventures to Tweeddale as 95% positive with some big fish thrown in. My best bag 35lb for 4 fish, my heaviest fish 14lb.

According to Chalkie who looks after the place, there are fish in either of the two fly lakes that are heavier than 30lb and these were stocked in may/june and neither have as yet been caught.

        The mind boggles.
