Where would you use one? I think the only one I've seen in use other than on telly was at Sweethope on the big lake! They look like hard work to me!

Aye I've seen them on Sweethope, Asked a bloke about it at Tunstall and he wasn't too sure but did stoke his beard several times before getting back into the usual "Dawsons Olive Rant" I fancy it myself but would worry about getting my legs nibbled by pike and under water monsters we don't know about yet.

I'd go for one with sides (and a front and back obviously), a cabin and a petrol engine biff lad.

I'm sure they could Vamp, I fish there too for pike. But I take an aweful lot of gear with me when I go so a float tube wouldn't be an option. I suppose if you just took one rod and a few lures you could get away with it........... till you caught the fish of a lifetime and it was thrashing about in front of you in 20ft of water , with a size 4/0 hook hanging from it's mouth , not to mention all those razor sharp teeth next to your nice inflatable tube

How much do they cost? I have a vague recollection they are about £2-£300?
Maybe you could hire one for a day to see what it's like first?
