After hearing about Caistron we (Me and Marksman_Tyne)thought we'd have a venture over for a look.
We arrived just after 1pm, on an overcast but bright and hot day, near enough perfect conditions.... plenty of hatches and loads of fish rising.
After speaking to the warden and opted for an 8 hr 4 fish session we kitted up and had a walk round for a look before we done any fishing.
Marksman_Tyne decided to have a go on the worm lake whilst I opted for the fly.
I took my position on the second podium from the hut on the small fly lake and within 3 casts had my first fish..... I was astounded!!
I decided to stick with the Orange Dog knobbler and after a few more chucks they just kept coming...... the takes were strong and they fought well
20 mins later and the results were great..... I had my bag!..... they started to tail off after that so I had 4 kept fish and returned 8 or 9
Marksman_Tyne had just as much success on the worm lake but his were spread throughout the day...
he also got his bag then came onto the fly lake for the last couple of hours for catch n release and returned 3 or 4
