Guys i was covering Stanley on nights this week.
Early this morning (4am) had a ride up to Beamish pond. One or two fish rising.
The pond is quite big but compared to Derwent its like a drop in the bath.
I,ve got a mobile number on the gate to book a day.
I am a bit concerned as to 1, are the fish easy to catch. If so there is no fun.2, If you keep some, what is the quality of the fish like. My mate at work reckons they taste horrible.(due to still water).
I can,t help thinking though how long have the stockies been in Derwent. In my mind if the fish have had a half decent time in the resevoir you would have thought they were good quality for eating.
I am aware nowt compares with a river caught trout.
Mick.
