Yes Richard it works and well
Are you the only one that is allowed to experiment, i actually got the the idea from another forum, i fish on a heavily fished catch and release private lake no fish are killed, some have been caught several times and the fly works,
so there is no need to post sarcastic replies.
Richard stick to your stocky bashing mate.

          Stocky Bashing! Good Angling!

I wasnt making sarcastic comments! I just meant that I was a bit surprised to see something like that working so well. Im not doubting that the thing works, it probably does! I catch plenty of fish on both small waters and big reservoirs around the country. I have won plenty of competitions and enjoy doing it. If you are part of the whole pathetic, 'I don't use lures because its not fishing' carry on, then unlucky. I give the fish what they want. If its a dry fly then ok, but if they want 3 blobs on a Di7 ripped back at 300mph then thats what they get! I enjoy going fishing but also, I go fishing to catch fish. If anyone would prefer to sit on a bright sunny day pointlessly watching a dry fly for 8 hours rather than taking two dosen on the lure should get their head looked at I feel.

          Just my views!

          Richard

No Richard i don't fish lures and don't critersize those that do each to there own thing,
I like yourself have fished allover in the past, i don't fish comps and never have, not that i didn't want to just that i have commitments with work and family,
I have tied flies for over 30 years and seen them all, most of the comp flies
are only variations of old pattens like the Bibio i posted only to help other members catch fish, the pattern itself has good movement subsurface that's what catches fish.
Like your Dinky Doo in my opinion is only an old school pattern of the Damsel
tied with modern materials ie ice dub.
The lake i fish c&r the fish have seen them all and are hard to catch on lures.
If i have a new patten it gets a swim up there if it catches it will anywhere,
In the future my patterns will be given to friends and not posted on the forum
If i had any doubt about a post i would do it by PM and not try and make anyone look a prat on open forum.
