went up the derwent last night first time in over a year thought I would hedge my bets and took a worm rod with me . Got up there for 4 ,first cast on the fly and landed a nice 3 1/2 pounder this was closly followed by a 2 3/4 .decided to warm up a bit and chucked the worm rod out not a touch . went back to the car and put worm rod away then back on the fly got another two 2 1/2 pounders and released a further 8 .all fish were taken on a 15ft leader with a gold head damsel on the point and a damsel on the dropper counted them down for 15 to 25 sec and a figure of 8 retrive. then the best fish of the day a free 3lb off a bloke at the lodge (didnt want the bother of gutting it).all in a good few hours (left at 8)
