  • Langley Dam Today

Spent 6 hours fishing catch and release and gained a slight suntan and had the rod bent a few times, what more can you ask for.
There was a fair breeze blowing when we arrived at the fishery although there was hardly a breath of air when we left home.
Fished the reed beds for an hour or so without so much as an offer then decided to fish the opposite bank, as it was really bright I tried a few buzzers, nymphs, lures using an intermediate line with no success. As soon as there was cloud cover the fish started topping all over the place, Cdc on the point and a couple of diawl backs on the droppers and into fish straight away on the CdC. Decided to use only one fly, CDC on the point and took more fish on this pattern. As soon as the sun came out the fish disapeared, this happened all afternoon, cloud cover=fish, sun= nothing.
Overall, a cracking day and a good thirst built up for tonight.
