Simon,
The Noose is usually stocked for beginners, follow the link,to LAKES and hover over the lakes with your cursor.
evening should fish well, try black hoppers. or a small olive nymph.
I don't class myself as an expert on the place but I do have a better idea than most about the place! Personally, I keep away from the noose and hangmans lakes. The doxford (the biggest one) is by far the best. It fishes well to all methods. If you are going up on a night time, when the fish start rising, don't bother messing around with stupid black size 426 dries. Simply either put a zonker or a blob ona floating line, GINK IT UP and chuck it onto the lake. I will GUARANTEE a fish will have a go. Every time. If that isn't your thing, try sticking a couple of nymphs on a floating line with a big dry on the point. Best piece of advice I can give about the place is, if you can, stay until it is PITCH BLACK. Fishing gets better the darker it gets.
Was there on sunday fished the large lake bagged up on drifted size 16 black buzzer. Young Matthew who fishes for the England youth had 12 fish on pheasant tail and hares ear both 16s. hope this helps.
well im sick , blanked again thats four times ,i only started to give myself some sport during the summer when shore fishing is quiet think i should have played golf instead
